An Oklahoma woman found bloodied with multiple injuries said she escaped from a cage she was being held in against her will, McAlester police say.
According to the McAlester News-Capital, police arrested Cody Ray McFadden, 34, on a slew of charges after he allegedly held a woman against her will at a home off of Redbird Drive. The alleged incident came to light after officers with the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call about a domestic issue at the home.
Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who said she went to check on McFadden earlier that morning, when he inexplicably forced her into a dog cage. He then started poking her with a stick, the victim said, adding that McFadden threatened to shoot her with a crossbow if she tried to escape.
Afterward, McFadden fled inside his house, giving her the chance to pry open the cage.
When the responding officers asked him to come out of his residence, McFadden allegedly refused to surrender. Tear gas was eventually deployed and the suspect was taken into custody.
McFadden is facing charges of:
- Kidnapping
- Maiming
- Domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
- Aggravated domestic assault
- Arson
- Battery
- Animal cruelty
McFadden remains behind bars at the Pittsburg County Jail on a $1 million bond. His relationship with the victim is unclear.
