Kiely Rodni’s boyfriend told her to “be safe” hours before she vanished from a party at a California campground, as police officials released photos of a sweatshirt she had in her possession at the time.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, 16-year-old Kiely Rodni was last seen Saturday at around 12:30 a.m., close to the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee. She left the campground after attending a “large party that night, alongside more than 100 young adults,” according to ABC News.
Police said that the teen’s vehicle, described as a 2013 silver Honda CRV with a California tag, 8YUR127, is also missing.
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Kiely had a black hoodie with her on the night she disappeared. It’s unclear whether the teen was wearing the hoodie when she vanished.
“The first photo depicts a hoodie Kiely was loaned on August 5th, the day before she went missing. We don’t know whether Kiely was wearing that hoodie when she disappeared, but we believe it was still in her possession,” the sheriff’s office said on social media.
“The second photo is an actual depiction of Kiely’s 2013 silver Honda CR-V (8YUR127-Ca) from the winter.”
On Wednesday, Kiely’s boyfriend, Jagger Westfall, told Fox 40 that Kiely attended what was supposed to be a senior farewell party. Jagger said he told Kiely to be safe before they parted ways for the night.
“And so I was just like, OK. Be safe. Don’t like, do anything stupid,” Jagger told the outlet. “Then at 10:30, she responded to what I was saying, and just said, ‘Oh, I’m sorry that you’re going through that. And that was the last time I heard from her.”
Jagger added that he recently went to a spot in Arizona where Kiely liked to hang out, in hopes of finding her there, but had no luck.
“I don’t know where she is. We don’t have anything to go off of at this point. But, I fully believe that she’s alive and well. And I fully believe that the two of us, three of us or other people are gonna bring her home safe.”
Meanwhile, family and friends set up a website for the missing teen at findkiely.com, as well as an email address, findkiely@gmail.com, NBC 3 reports.
Family members confirmed that a $50,000 reward is offered for anyone who has information that leads to Kiely being found.
Anyone with information about Kiely’s whereabouts should contact the Placer County Sheriff’s Office at 530-886-5375. An anonymous tip line has been set up for the case at 530-581-6320 (press option 7).
