Anne Heche, involved in a car crash a week ago that destroyed a west Los Angeles home, is on life support and is not expected to survive.
A statement released by a representative Thursday night said the 53-year-old actor suffered a “severe anoxic brain injury” and is on life support for possible organ donation, KNBC reported.
She has been in a coma and in critical condition since last Friday at the Grossman Burn Center.
“She is not expected to survive,” the statement said. “It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.”
Heche’s car smashed into the home of Lynn Mishele Friday morning. The car traveled through the house and burst into flames. Mishele and her three pets were able to escape.
Earlier on Thursday, Los Angeles police announced that a sample of Heche’s blood contained drugs and they were investigating the crash as a DUI, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Further toxicology tests were being done to determine what drugs were in the actor’s system and if they were prescribed medications.
