A Florida woman was reportedly mauled to death by a group of dogs on Saturday.
Holmes County Sheriff John Tate told WJHG that three dogs attacked Shirley Johnson, 69, as she walked home in Gritney. A passerby reportedly discovered her body 24 hours later.
According to WJHG, Johnson was bitten more than 100 times. Though the medical examiner attributed her death to dog bites, Tate told the news outlet that criminal charges are not pending against the three dogs’ owner because there is no physical evidence linking them to Johnson’s death.
WJHG also reported that the three dogs have been euthanized. Residents said the dogs had a history of being aggressive.
