Police in Kentucky on Saturday arrested a 46-year-old man for the shooting death of his wife earlier this month.
Yovany Chaple-Chalita has been charged with murder-domestic violence and tampering with physical evidence, the Lexington Police Department said.
Detectives said officers responded to a call just before 2:30 p.m. on August 17 about a victim who had been shot. Ashley Stamper, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner’s office ruled Stamper’s death a homicide, and investigators obtained warrants for the arrest of her husband, Chaple-Chalita.
No other details were released.
He was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center.
