‘Uncharacteristic disappearance’: Missing Michigan Mom Vanishes Without Her Children

Michigan authorities are searching for a missing Plainfield Township woman; police described the incident as an “uncharacteristic disappearance.”

Mlive reports that Mollie Schmidt, (maiden name: O’Meara) was last seen on August 21 at her residence close to East Beltline Avenue NE and Five Mile Road. The Kent County Sheriff’s Department said Schmidt’s disappearance is unusual because she left behind her children.

Kent police also said she could be in the company of 44-year-old Yenly Garcia, of Wyoming.

Schmidt is described as a white female who stands 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighs around 100 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.
