A Texas teenager reported missing along with his mother on Thursday morning has been identified as the driver of a vehicle involved in a chase and crash Friday in Nebraska.
A woman’s body was found in the trunk of the vehicle driven by Tyler Roenz, 17, who was hospitalized in serious condition, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a tweet.

The body has not been identified, but Tyler’s mother, Michelle Roenz, was reported missing at the same time as her son by a family member, KTRK reported.
Early Friday afternoon, Gonzalez tweeted that a Mazda 3 linked with the disappearances had been spotted in Nebraska.

“With assistance from Nebraska State Police, a pursuit took place and the driver crashed out,” he said.
Earlier Friday, the sheriff said the disappearance was “under suspicious circumstances or came up missing under suspicious circumstances,” although he declined to describe those circumstances.
