Authorities in Texas are investigating after a 35-year-old woman brought her daughter to a Tomball hospital on Sunday and told staff she killed her.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office officials said the woman arrived just after noon with the 5-year-old girl, who was pronounced dead by a doctor, KHOU reported.

The woman told investigators she killed the girl at Spring Creek Park in Tomball, but deputies did not find signs of a crime scene at the park.

The girl had a cut on her neck, but police didn’t say what kind of weapon was used.

Police took the woman in for questioning and said she will likely be charged with capital murder.
