A teen girl kidnapped from Alabama was found in Florida over the weekend, and police say she was beaten, tied up and abandoned.
According to Fox 29, deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Coby Jerome Jordan, 22, and Molly Michele Jarrett, 19, in Houston County, Alabama, on Saturday, in connection with a call concerning a kidnapped minor found severely beaten and tied up by a tree.
Police said they received a call early Saturday morning after a resident in the area helped the victim and called police.
“Upon arrival, deputies found a minor with her hands bound behind her back,” JCSO said, according to Al.com.
Investigators later determined that Jordan, according to the witness, picked her up Friday evening. At around 1 a.m. Saturday morning, two other people joined them, including Jarrett. The victim was then taken to an abandoned building where she was tied down and beaten.
The suspects then allegedly took the victim to another area, “dropped off and left alone under a tree, where she eventually escaped.”
The motive behind the incident is not known at this time.
Jordan is facing battery, robbery, false imprisonment, and tampering with a victim charges. Jarrett is facing charges of principal in the first degree to battery, principal in the first degree to false imprisonment, principal in the first degree to robbery, and principal in the first degree to tampering with a victim.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to an area hospital. She’s recovering and expected to survive.
