A Virginia teen who vanished earlier this month was reportedly found dead on Friday in a shallow grave.
Family members told WTVR that Cion Carroll’s body was discovered in Lunenburg County. The body was reportedly sent to the medical examiner for positive identification, and Virginia State Police spokesperson Corinne Geller said it is being investigated as a homicide.
Carroll’s relatives told WTVR that the 17-year-old was last seen at his grandmother’s home in Kenbridge on November 2. The family claimed there might be witnesses in this case but they are not speaking out.
Meanwhile, authorities told WRIC that Carroll’s phone was last traced to the home of a sex offender.
Relatives who also spoke with the news outlet claimed that a tattoo was found on the body which matched the one Carroll has on his arm.
Anyone with any information regarding this case is asked to call Virginia State Police at 434-352-7128 or email them at questions@vsp.virginia.gov.
