On Sunday, a Texas woman was reportedly shot and killed by her estranged boyfriend, who ultimately took his own life.
According to KHOU, the man, who has not been named, fatally shot Kenia Osorio, 32, while she and her 8-year-old daughter were in a car parked outside a hospital near Katy. The victim’s brother, Carlos Rivera, told the news outlet that Osorio dated the man while going through a divorce, but she ended things with him as she and her husband were reconciling.
Osorio’s daughter was unharmed. The family told KTRK they were unsure whether there was domestic violence before Sunday’s shooting. Osorio and the suspect had only been dating for a few months.
“As far as we know, he pretty much got obsessed because she decided to work things out with her husband and get back together with him,” Rivera said.
Meanwhile, Houston police Assistant Chief Ban Tien told KHOU, “I can only imagine what the kid is going through.”
