The body of a 6-year-old boy was found buried beneath the hallway floor of an Arkansas home this week, and the boy’s mother and another adult have been arrested.
Ashley Rolland, 28, and Nathan Bridges, 33, were arrested by the Arkansas State Police and charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a minor, KAIT reported.
A 6-year-old girl, who also lived in the house, was taken to a hospital in Memphis for treatment of what is believed to be scalp burns and was in stable condition.
State police did not say what prompted the investigation, but they were called to the scene by Lee County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday. ASP said they believe the boy died from injuries sustained in the house about three months ago. The state medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine cause of death.
