Divers on Tuesday found the body of a missing Michigan doctor beneath the ice in a pond near his home.
Bolek Payan, a psychiatrist at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, was seen leaving work on December 22, as CrimeOnline previously reported, and then on security video leaving his Leoni Township home on foot later that day.
Blackman-Leoni Public Safety said investigators gained access to Payan’s security cameras on Monday and saw him exit the home, leaving his truck behind.
After checking the area around the home with dogs, drones, and officers on foot, investigators cut holes in the ice on the pond, and divers found the body on Tuesday.
The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy, along with toxicology testing, and will determine the cause and manner of death.
