Miami-Dade police are investigating after a man apparently stabbed his wife to death Saturday afternoon.
Detective Angel Rodriguez said police were called to the home at about 2 p.m. and found a woman dead at the scene, WPLG reported.
Rodriguez said a 911 caller said that a man had stabbed his wife, but no information was available about who made that call.
Police said the husband was taken into custody without incident, with help from the North Bay Village Police Department. It’s unclear if that meant he was no longer at the scene when he was arrested.
Neighbors told WPLG that they frequently heard fighting from the couple who lived at the home.. They said about five police cars responded to the scene.
“There was an emergency vehicle that came and they came out, so apparently they couldn’t resuscitate the person that was in that building,” said George Campbell, who lives nearby.
No other information, including the names of the suspect and victim, have been released.
