DNA has confirmed the body of a missing Cincinnati architect was found in Mexico last week, along with his fiancée and two of her relatives.
Relatives of Jose Gutierrez, 36, provided DNA samples for the matching test after the bodies were found last Thursday, WXIX reported.
Police had already confirmed the other three bodies found were Gutierrez’s fiancée Daniela Pichardo, her sister Viviana Pichardo, and cousin Irma Paola Vargas Montoya.
The three women went out to dinner with Gutierrez on December 25, after Gutierrez had flown to Zacatecas state to spend the holidays with Pichardo’s family, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
They never returned from the dinner outing.
Police found their SUV riddled with bullets and the bodies in shallow graves nearby.
The US Department of State warns travelers not to go to Zacatecas because of a high incidence of crime and kidnapping.
