Texas authorities are investigating Wednesday’s deaths of a man and woman as an apparent murder-suicide.
Houston police found the two decedents, a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, while conducting a welfare check. KTRK reported that the co-workers were concerned because the woman had left work and was expected to return.
According to KHOU, a neighbor who was also concerned had called the police. That neighbor reportedly let them in the home where the shooting occurred as they had a spare key to the residence. The man and woman both suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators said a gun was located near the man’s body and he had a gun holster in his waistband, according to KTRK.
Police said the man and woman had dated but the relationship ended this past summer. It is unclear why the man was at the home. A motive has not been disclosed.
