A Texas man who was missing after another man was found dead in his home has now been found dead as well.
Houston Police conducted a welfare check on James Gerald Martin III, 37, on January 27 after neighbors noted a vehicle left running for several hours in the garage, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Officer entered the home — one of 11 in a small, gated community — and found another man, later identified as 35-year-old Dana Lars Ryssdal, shot dead inside. But Martin was nowhere to be found.
Investigators were also looking for Dodge Ram pickup truck with Oregon tag number 915NLP. That truck, possibly belonging to Ryssdal, was found on Monday and is being processed for evidence, KTRK reported.
Two days later, investigators found a body inside another vehicle, and on Saturday announced that the remains belonged to Martin, who had been shot multiple times.
Police are not calling Martin a suspect in Ryssdal’s death. KHOU said it conducted a background check on Martin and found that he has ties to Oregon, where his name is linked to several cannabis businesses.
Police, however, say they have no suspects and no motive.
