New Jersey Town Councilman Nabbed on Drug Distribution Charges

A New Jersey borough town councilman has been arrested on charges of distributing and possessing with intent to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine.

Malik D. Johnston, aka Pippin J. Folk, 46, reportedly sold quantities of the drugs to an undercover police officer, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said in a statement released Friday.

She said the Flemington Borough Police Department worked with the Narcotics Task Force in her office to make the arrest.

He’s charged with second degree distribution and second degree possession of each of the drugs. The charges carry prison sentences of 5 to 10 years, if convicted.

Johnston is jailed at the Warren County Correctional Center awaiting his first court appearance.

According to MyCentralJersey.com, Johnton was elected to the Flemington Borough town council in 2020. His term ends this year.
