Police in North Carolina a shooting that killed a 6-month-old girl, her father, and another man on Tuesday.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators foundTerrance Jaiquann Melvin, 26, and Johnathan Alexander McMillian, 33, dead inside a Fayetteville home at about 8:30 p.m.
The baby girl was also found with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
According to WRAL, Melvin was the baby’s father. Family members told the station that the girl’s mother dropped her off at his home to spend some time with him and returned to find police on the scene.
“He was in the house enjoying some quality time with his daughter, and basically, he was assassinated,” said Maurice McRae, who owns the car wash where Melvin worked. “Anytime, if you’re in your home and somebody comes in … and takes your life with your child in your hand, that says a lot about the character of the person that killed him.”
Investigators have not released a motive but say the shooting was not random. WTVD said that police indicated the shooting stemmed from an argument between Melvin and McMillian, but WRAL said investigators were looking for a suspect.
