A Seattle man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly lit an apartment on fire — along with himself.
The 35-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, the Seattle Police Department said.
He has since been arrested for arson and will be booked into jail once he’s released from the hospital.
Officers responded to the apartment in West Seattle just before 8 a.m., police said, and helped secure the scene while firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Witnesses told the officers they saw a man on the porch light an item on fire and walk away. They also said they saw him lighting items inside the apartment on fire before he caught fire.
The apartment building was extensively damaged, police said, but the man was the only injury.
