12-Year-Old Survivor of Texas Murder-Suicide Saved Baby, Was Raped by Suspect

Family members say a 12-year-old Texas girl escaped a home with a 1-year-old baby Saturday night after her mother’s boyfriend killed three teenage girls and raped the 12-year-old.

Police have not yet named the 38-year-old suspect, who killed himself after the younger girl fled the Galena Park house, KTRK reported.

Harris County deputies say the mother of two of the teens was not at home when the incident took place, and they have not revealed a motive.

A family friend told KTRK that two of the victims were Sayuri Gil, a 19-year-old who was six months pregnant, and 13-year-old Melany Torres. They were the older sisters of the 12-year-old, and Gil was the mother of the baby.

Family members identified the third victim as Laisha Perez, 14, a neighbor.

The sheriff’s office said the man, who had been the mother’s boyfriend for about two years, shot the three teens then raped the 12-year-old and told her to run away. She grabbed the baby and ran naked to a neighbor’s for help, a Ring camera capturing her desperate flight to safety.

The neighbors called Galena Park police.
