A Texas man is on the run after he allegedly shot his daughter’s boyfriend to death and wounded two other men.
Houston Police responded to the call on the city’s south side shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday and found three men in their 40s with gunshot wounds. The daughter’s boyfriend was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other two men suffered minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals, according to KPRC.
Investigators said the four men — all supposedly friends — were out celebrating a birthday and returned to one of their homes. The suspect’s daughter arrived, and an argument between her and her boyfriend began, KTRK reported. The suspect, in his 50s, reportedly was unhappy with the boyfriend’s behavior and opened fire at him on the home’s porch.
“The suspect did leave. We do know who he is. Homicide investigators are going to work it and get him in custody,” Lt. R. Willkens said. “We don’t have him right now, but we will.”
Wilkens said the suspect pulled out the gun when the victim began calling his daughter names.
“The father was upset about the name-calling and shot our victim who is dead on the scene,” Willkens said, according to KHOU. “We know possibly somewhere around nine shots were fired.”
Investigators think the other two men were hit by stray shots. The daughter was apparently unhurt and also left the scene. Investigators are looking for her as well as her father.
