Child actress Amanda Bynes was reportedly placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold in California on Sunday after she was reportedly found roaming the streets naked and alone.
According to TMZ, Bynes, 36, was in Los Angeles when she flagged down a car and told the driver she was experiencing a mental health episode. Bynes reportedly then called 911 herself.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Bynes was unharmed but she was placed under a psychiatric hold after she was taken to a local police station. Another source said Bynes will likely be hospitalized for several days as a 5150 hold initially lasts for 72 hours but can be extended.
TMZ reported that Bynes has bipolar disorder and she was previously placed under a psychiatric hold in 2013, leading her mother to become her conservator. However, the conservatorship — which protected her person and estate — ended last year after 9 years.
