A Michigan man has been charged in the death of an 18-month-old boy he and his girlfriend were babysitting in December.
The Portage Department of Public Safety said Saturday they arrested Brandon Bryce Sullivan, 29, on charges of felony murder and child abuse after receiving the autopsy report on the death of Jacob Flowers on December 15, WXMI reported. The autopsy determined the boy’s death was a homicide.
Officers responded to the home late in the afternoon on December 15 to a report of an unresponsive baby. When they arrived, the boy had a pulse but was not responding to stimuli. He was taken to Bronson Hospital that evening, and by 9:30 p.m. the next day, he was dead.
Investigators said that the nature of the child’s injuries led them to consider the death suspicious.
Police provided no further information about the case except to say Sullivan is being held without bond pending an arraignment on Monday.
