A Mississippi woman was arrested early Saturday and charged with the shooting death of her husband during an argument that was captured on Facebook Live.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said that the 28-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound just before 8 a.m. Saturday. Deputies arrested Kadejah Brown, 28, and recovered a 9 mm handgun.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins told WCBI that Jeremy Brown was trying to leave the apartment before his wife shot him.
“There was a history of domestic violence between BROWN and the victim,” Hawkins said in a statement on Facebook. “This was a tragic and senseless murder and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim. Fortunately, Brown is in custody and we look forward to the criminal justice system holding her accountable.”
While the sheriff’s office said the incident was captured on Facebook Live, the video has since been removed. Kadejah Brown’s most recent Facebook posts, over the past two days, accuse her husband of cheating on her with women where he works and being bisexual. Brown has done several Facebook Lives, along with an even larger number of TikTok videos.
Brown is being held without bond pending an initial court appearance.
