Police in St. Petersburg, Florida, issued an Amber Alert for 2-year-old Taylen Mosley, who is missing after his mother was found dead early Thursday afternoon.
Investigators identified the boy’s mother as 20-year-old Pashun Jeffery and said she was found dead at the Lincoln Shores Apartments at about 2:30 p.m.
The toddler was not at the apartment, and police fear he could be in danger.
“I can tell you it was a very violent homicide scene within the apartment,” St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway told Bay News 9. “But we cannot find the two-year-old. So, right now, that’s our main concern.”
Police said family members last saw Jeffery and the toddler late Wednesday afternoon. They called the apartment manager Thursday afternoon when they hadn’t heard from her, and found her dead when they went to check on her. The little boy was nowhere to be seen.
Police said they are following all leads and are “confident” Taylen isn’t with his father.
