A Kentucky man was arrested on Wednesday, the same day three people and two dogs were reportedly found dead at a home.
Breckinridge County police found the bodies while performing a welfare check at a residence in Vine Grove — where they also arrested suspect Tyler Wehmeyer, 28. The Louisville Courier Journal reported that the three victims, who all suffered blunt force trauma, were identified as Audrey Whealan, 77, Michelle Whealan, 51, and Doss Smothers, 58.
Smothers’ body was located outside but on the property, while the two slain women were found inside the home.
Wehmeyer allegedly confessed to killing the three victims and two dogs. He also admitted to moving two of the bodies, according to WDRB.
Wehmeyer is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and second-degree cruelty to animals. A motive has not been disclosed. It is also unclear how Wehmeyer and the victims are connected.
