Orlando police officers responded to a domestic violence call early Sunday morning and shot and killed a suspect who came out of the house and shot at them.
Police Chief Eric Smith said that when officer went inside, they found three victims — one a child, WESH reported. Smith said the officers heard gunshots from inside the house as they arrived.
“The suspect walked out of the house, walked toward the officers, shot at the officers. The officers returned fired and the suspect fell,” Smith said.
The two adults inside were pronounced dead at the scene. The child was taken to a hospital and died there. Investigators have not released their names while they contact next of kin.
Smith said the suspect has been identified at 28-year-old Lacorvis Daley.
The two officers who shot the suspect have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. They were unharmed.
“What a horrific, tragic situation. Sending support to the family members of the victims, as well as the officers, who were thankfully unharmed,” Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said on Twitter.
A neighbor told WKMG that one of the victims reached out to her for help.
