A 32-year-old Texas woman missing since March 27 has been found dead in the Red Sands desert outside El Paso.
Michelle Morales-Nakaza was last seen at the Baskin-Robbins across from El Dorado High School, police said, and may have been picked up by a man driving a white Toyota Camry.
A missing persons report was filed on March 31, and a builletin asking for the public’s help finding the missing woman was issued on April 9. the El Paso Times reported.
Red Sands is an empty area of about 21 square miles, popular with off-road vehicles, just east of El Paso and a few miles from the Baskin Robbins where Morales-Nakaza was last seen.
Morales-Nakaza’s mother, Roni Espino, said in a Facebook post this week that her daughter is the mother of three children.
El Paso police are investigating the death as a homicide, but the cause of death has not been disclosed.
