The Union County prosecutor’s office in New Jersey said Thursday that police are investigating a double homicide that happened inside a Roselle home.
According to NBC New York, Atasha Scott, who said she’s the sister of homeowner Gary Morrison, identified the victims as the homeowner’s wife, Keisha Morrison, and daughter, Kelsey, although prosecutors declined to comment further on Thursday.
Scott told the outlet that the homeowner’s brother, who was ordered to leave the residence, became upset and killed the victims with an axe he took from the garage. The homeowner reportedly found the victims dead Wednesday after he returned from work, and subsequently called 911.
Gary Morrison found the crime weapon hidden between mattresses and bloody sheets, Scott said. The suspect then fled the scene in the mother’s new BMW.

Police tracked the suspect to Maryland and arrested him. His name has not yet been provided by police but Scott says his name is Everoy Morrison Jr., according to News 12.
“He [Everoy Morrison] walked right out the house. My brother was telling them [police] to get him while he was here. But for some reason, he was let go and they just let him walk away and they found him in Maryland,” Scott said.
Scott said Kelsey would have been 10 years old this weekend.
“It’s like a Lifetime movie, we don’t feel as though it’s real. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone right now,” Scott said, according to CBS 2.
“He wrapped them up in their bedsheets, stuffed them underneath my niece’s bed. My brother found the axe.”
Scott said the accused killer was still in the basement when the homeowner arrived and attempted to lure him before the homeowner called police.
“He’s been detained. Unfortunately, Kelsey and Keisha are deceased and that’s what they told us,” Scott said. “Kelsey was a firecracker – strong personality. Keisha was quiet, never see her angry.”
