A 9-year-old New York boy was reportedly killed minutes after arriving in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, and five suspects have been arrested for his slaying.
WABC reported that Gioser Luis Féliz, 9, was fatally shot in the head in Santiago. Féliz and his father had gotten into a car at Cibao International Airport — but, moments later, robbers targeted the vehicle.
The suspects reportedly opened fire after the driver refused to stop. WABC reported that Féliz died and the five suspects who were arrested on Thursday have confessed to the crime.

According to the news outlet, the suspects have been identified as Luis Ángel Vargas Brito, 18; Derlin Javier Mercado Martinez, Cesar Junior Ulloa Cuevas; José Manuel Almonte Santana (Buki), 20; and Elian Martínez Sánchez (Odalis), 22.
At the time of the shooting, Féliz and his father were visiting the Dominican Republic to see family for spring break.
Reports indicated that Féliz’s body will be taken back to the U.S.
