An Arizona man has been arrested for the brutal beating death of his disabled mother.
Bullhead City police said they were called to a home just before 3 p.m. on Friday and found Janice Lynn Houston, 55, badly beaten. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her son, 27-year-old Joseph Houston, was identified as the suspect and arrested after officers found him outside the home.
A family member told police that he had attacked and choked his mother on Thursday. He returned on Friday and threw a rock through the sliding glass door when he was denied entry.
Houston allegedly beat his mother when the family member ran to a nearby store to call for help.
The motive for the attack is unknown.
Houston was booked into the Mohave County jail on a charge of first degree murder.
