Four people overdosed early Saturday on cocaine they apparently bought while out partying at a bar, and a dog mauled the face of one of them.
Police in Grafton, Wisconsin, said they were called to the home just before 5 a.m. by someone who said “four people had overdosed, and CPR was being performed on one of those people.”
Officers administered Narcan to three of the people, Grafton police said, and took three dogs from the home, placing them in quarantine with the Ozaukee Humane Society.
Police said all four the victims were in their 20s. One was hospitalized in grave condition, and the woman whose face was mauled was a critical condition after surgery. It was not clear if the critical condition was because of the overdose or her injuries.
The other two people remained hospitalized as well but were in stable condition.
Grafton Police Chief Jeff Caponera said detectives are investigating but there are many unanswered questions.
“We do know that the group was partying together at a bar in the Saukville area earlier,” said Caponera. “We have information that the drugs were purchased at the bar.”
Investigators found “numerous drugs and drug paraphernalia” in the home and are seeking search warrants, police said.
