A Dallas mom died Saturday after she was caught in crossfire between gunmen firing at each other from two vehicles traveling down the street.
Dallas police identified the victim as 39-year-old Ana Moreno, and family members told WFAA that she was in her vehicle, on her way to shop for a prom dress with her teenage daughter.
Another daughter, Michelle Rodriguez, told the station that her mother was “anything you would want in a mom.”
“It wasn’t her time, it wasn’t supposed to be her. And it’s over something stupid. How do you do that to someone innocent?” Rodriguez said, sobbing.
Moreno also leaves behind a son.
Three more people, all men, were found at the scene with gunshot wounds and taken to nearby hospitals in critical condition after the mid-afternoon shooting, police said.
Investigators have not released information about suspects or the vehicles involved. There had been no arrests as of Sunday afternoon.
