A West Virginia man has been charged with 43 counts of sex crimes against children after wide-ranging investigation.
Dennis James Maze is accused of crimes against five victims. His charges include 16 counts of sexual abuse, six counts of sexual assault, 20 counts of sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust, and multiple counts related to child pornography.
Corporal J.M. DeMeyer of the State Police Crimes Against Children Unit told WTAP that multiple agencies participated in the investigation, including state police, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, and the Parkersburg Police Department.
Maze appeared in court and was given a cash only bail of $1 million. He could face up to life in prison if convicted.
