South Carolina authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate a woman who has gone missing after finding her car, WYFF-TV reports.
Casey Lavonne Young, 44, was last heard from around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, after she left work, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators presume that Young was heading to Boiling Springs, where she lives. She was driving a 2009 white Infinity G-37 with SC TAG number LCK 688, according to FOX Carolina.
Young is described as 5-foot-5 and about 150 pounds, with long black braids.
“The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate a missing person,” a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office reads.
“We are aware of some flyers that have been made and circulated to local media outlets that list several of her family members as points of contact, but we would urge tipsters to contact Lt. Letterman first to avoid any confusion or misinformation being disseminated. At present, this agency doesn’t have any information that suggests any sort of foul play.”
Police did not release information about where the vehicle was located, whether they found any evidence within the vehicle or why they do not suspect foul play.
Authorities released an image of the vehicle, which appears to be taken from a traffic camera.
The sheriff’s office first issued an alert about Young on Wednesday.
To report information about Young or her location, call Lt. Brandon Letterman of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office at 864-494-0644 or email him at blettreman@spartnaburgcounty.org.
