Accused Idaho killer Bryan Kohberger has reportedly received numerous love letters as he sits behind bars facing four counts of first-degree murder.
According to The Messenger, an unnamed law enforcement source at the Latah County jail in Idaho said that Kohberger has received dozens of letters from women who said they think he’s innocent while expressing infatuation with him.
“He gets these letters a couple times a week,” the source said. “It’s disturbing.”
“They’re usually handwritten with hearts and stars. Colored envelopes. Everyone in the jail talks about how weird it is.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Kohberger is facing charges for the murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. All four students were found stabbed dead in their off-campus rental near the school in November 2022.
Police arrested Kohberger in December 2022 at his family’s home in Pennsylvania. He was extradited back to Idaho to face charges.
It’s unclear whether Kohberger wrote the women back, but one admirer, Brittney Hislope, claimed he was the “perfect man” for her, New York Post reports.
“My love interest … is named Bryan and is accused of murder, and I just wish to connect with him above anyone else,” Hislope posted on Facebook. “One way to describe my feelings for him over the last week or so … is kind of like being lovesick.”
The lovesick Hislope pointed out that she shared the same astrological sign as Kohberger and described him as her “divine masculine counterpart.”
Others took to Reddit to post sexually explicit content while “spreading misinformation” about the accused murderer. The community was subsequently banned for violating Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct for spreading false information, the Post reports.
Meanwhile, Kohberger remains behind bars without bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 26 at 9 a.m. in Moscow, at the Latah County Courthouse.
