Missouri police are searching for a 24-year-old Kansas woman they say opened fire in a hotel room last month, shooting a 36-year-old man and a 7-year-old girl. b
Blue Springs police say Samantha Thrasher got into an argument in the hotel room just before midnight on May 20, WDAF reported.
“She left the hotel. She went to her vehicle and grabbed a gun and came back in and just started firing,” Blue Springs Police Sgt. Keegan Hughes said.
The shooting took place at the Sure Stay Hotel, which Hughes said was “one of our good hotels.”
“It’s not normal for us to have calls at this hotel or disturbances — let alone shootings,” he said.
Thrasher allegedly punched the man and shot him several times; the girl was shot once, police said.
Hughes said investigators don’t know what sparked the argument, but the hotel manager said Thrasher and the others had thrown drinks at each other. Detectives have not yet spoken with the 36-year-old victim because he is physically unable to speak.
Despite that, police said, both victims are expected to survive.
They caution that Thrasher should be considered armed and dangerous.
Thrasher is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 100 pounds with brown eyes and hair, KSHB said. She may be driving a light brown, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.
