Police in Ohio are investigating after a 13-year-old girl was found dead in an Akron alley.

Akron police said a citizen found the girl’s body behind a home just before 1 p.m. on Monday, WOIO reported. She has been identified as Melanie Elkins.

Summit County Medical Examiner spokesman Gary Guenther said that an autopsy has been completed but results are pending further testing.

“There was no significant trauma noted during the autopsy examination,” Guenther said.
