An Indiana man was arrested last month for sexually abusing his dog and physically threatening his mother, who allegedly caught him carrying out the act.
In March 2022, an Elkhart woman reportedly witnessed her son, Blake Reffett, 20, with his pants down while raping her dog that was pinned on the couch. Before fleeing, Reffett brandished a hammer and threatened to kill his mother and burn her body if she called the police, according to The Elkhart Truth.
Police who executed a search warrant in June 2022, months after the incident, overheard Reffett mention taking a hit out on his mother, The Elkhart Truth reported.
According to the news outlet, officers claimed they noticed blood and red marks on the dog. A veterinarian later confirmed the dog had suffered trauma.
Reffett is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon and bestiality. His bond was set at $50,000.
