New York police have arrested a woman accused of stabbing a mother on a Brooklyn street as she was pushing her 3-year-old daughter in a stroller.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the stranger first threatened the toddler, then stabbed the 34-year-old mother when she got between the attacker and the little girl.
The victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest and both legs, and the suspect, who was wearing a blonde wig, fled the scene. She was later seen on surveillance video talking on her phone with the wig tucked under her arm.
Police identified the suspect as 25-year-old Lequasiah Lawrence and said she had been charged with attempted murder and assault, WABC reported.
Investigators said as Lawrence passed the victim on the sidewalk, she shouted, “What you looking at? I’ll stab your daughter!” then pulled out a knife and stabbed the mother.
The victim boarded the subway at the Jay Street station and rode the train into Queens, where she was met by police. She was reported to be in stable condition, and the child was not harmed.
