A 31-year-old Idaho man appeared in court Tuesday morning and was charged with the murders of four of his neighbors.
Majorjon Kaylor was also charged with one count of burglary, KREM reported. He was not given a bond.
The Shoshone County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Kenneth Guardipee, 65; Kenna Guardipee, 41; Devin Smith, 18; and Aiken Smith, 16. The manner and cause of death was homicide by gunshot.
Idaho State Police said investigators believe “the incident happened after a dispute between neighbors occurred” but provided no information about the dispute.
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office responded to the multi-home building at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, CrimeOnline previously reported, and found the four victims dead.
“This is a tragic situation that will affect the Kellogg community. Detectives continue working to establish a timeline and what led to the shooting,” said Idaho State Police Lieutenant Paul Berger. “As this case will go through the judicial process, we are ensuring every angle is covered with a thorough investigation.”
Earlier, Mountain Valley of Cascadia, a nursing home and rehabilitation center just steps away from the scene, said that one of the victims was an employee there. On her Facebook page, Kenna Guardipee identified herself as the cook at the facility.
