A grand jury indicted an Ohio man on Thursday for last week’s murders of his three sons.
WXIX reported that Chad Doerman, 32, is charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, and assault. On June 15, Doerman allegedly lined up his three sons, ages 3, 4, and 7, and shot them with a Marlin Model HC .22 rifle at their Monroe Township home.
Doerman reportedly also shot the children’s mother as she tried to stop the slayings. The woman’s daughter fled the scene and is safe, according to WXIX.
Before police responded to the scene, the boys’ mother apparently told a 911 dispatcher her “babies had been shot.”
The three boys were found dead in a yard, while Doerman was found sitting next to the rifle on the porch. The father allegedly told police that he planned the slayings for months.
Doerman was also accused of chasing down and killing one of his three sons who tried to escape.
Doerman’s bond was set at $20 million. He is due back in court on June 26.
