On Friday, an Ohio man pleaded not guilty to killing his three sons last week.
Clermont County prosecutor Mark Tekulve said Chad Doerman, 32, shot his 4-year-old son twice in the head in their home before shooting the 7-year-old as he tried to run away. The 7-year-old was wounded from behind when Doerman then shot him twice in the head from close range, according to WCPO.
After allegedly killing his two sons, Doerman then snatched his 3-year-old son from his mother’s arms and shot him in the head. The mother was reportedly shot in the hand during the June 15 incident.
Doerman reportedly used a Marlin Model HC .22 rifle to carry out the murders.
Before police responded to the scene, the boys’ mother apparently told a 911 dispatcher her “babies had been shot.”
The three boys were found dead in a yard, while Doerman was found sitting next to the rifle on the porch. The father allegedly told police that he planned the slayings for months.
Doerman is charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, and assault. He was ordered to remain jailed without bond at least until a July 5 court hearing.
