Police have positively identified the California parents discovered dead by their daughter Thursday morning in El Cajon.
According to ABC 10, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department identified Eric Orpinela, 42, and his wife, Denise Helen Orpinela, 39 as the victims found deceased in their East County home. Police said three children live in the home, ages 14, 13, and 9.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the sheriff’s department says it received a call from the 14-year-old at about 9:30 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found a man and a woman dead in their bedroom, both with trauma to their upper torsos and heads.
Deputies said the cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Homicide detectives overseeing the case said they didn’t believe there was any ongoing threat.
“The deaths are still under investigation. There are no outstanding suspects and there is no threat to the community,” the department said.
