Armed Thug Mugs Woman Then Asks Her for Date on Facebook

A brazen armed robber took $100 from an Indianapolis woman last month, forced her to add him on Facebook, and then asked her out over the social media app.

Maybe not the smartest way to get a date, but Indianapolis Police didn’t get Damien Boyce behind bars until June 12, after he allegedly shot two people in another armed robbery and hit another over the head with a brick.

Amber Beraun told WRTV that Boyce approached her late one night as she got off work and stopped to pick up her mail.

“He took (the gun) out of his pocket to show me what was going on — let me into your house. I did not do that,” Beraun said.

Instead, Boyce took the $100, pointed the gun at her, and told her to friend him on Facebook.

“I thought if maybe I added him on Facebook, he would leave and he did,” Beraun said.

But then, he messaged her.

“Damn you was too pretty to rob,” Boyce wrote. He also said he would pay her back and asked her to “come chill.”

Beraun said the incident “makes me a little on edge” and “took away my sense of safety from my own house.”

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police told The New York Post the June 12 incident started as an argument between Boyce and victims and involved a SWAT team after Boyce barricaded himself. Once the SWAT team was on scene, however, he surrendered and was charged with multiple counts, including burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal recklessness, and battery, court records show.

Charges for the armed robbery of Beraun were added on June 21. It’s not clear when Beraun made a report of the incident.
