Texas police released bodycam footage on Wednesday from May’s mass shooting at a shopping outlet that killed eight people.
Suspected gunman and alleged neo-Nazi Mauricio Garcia, 33, fatally shot the eight victims at Allen Premium Outlets on May 6 before being killed by law enforcement. An Allen police officer who was already at the outlet when the shooting occurred was filmed shooting at the suspect as he approached him.
According to KERA, a grand jury found on Tuesday that the officer’s use of deadly force was legally justified. The officer has not been publicly identified.
Bodycam footage shows the officer talking to a mother and her two children when shots rang out. The officer tells everyone to get down before running to the source of the gunfire. Police take down the shooter minutes later.
In addition to the eight fatalities, seven people were injured during the mass shooting.
WFAA reported that the outlet store was reopened a month after the shooting. The last shooting survivor was released from the hospital on June 23.
