On Wednesday, Ohio officials released video footage from earlier this month which shows a man being booked into jail for killing his three sons.
According to WLWT, Chad Doerman, 32, is seen in the latest bodycam video talking to Clermont County deputies at the jail, getting x-rays, and changing his clothes. Doerman is also heard requesting a phone call during the video, which is mostly muted.
Doerman could face the death penalty for killing his three sons, ages 3, 4, and 7, at their home on June 15. He allegedly used a Marlin Model HC .22 rifle to carry out the murders.
Clermont County prosecutor Mark Tekulve said Doerman shot his 4-year-old son twice in the head in their home before shooting the 7-year-old as he tried to run away. Doerman had wounded his oldest son before shooting him twice in the head at close range.
After allegedly killing his two sons, Doerman then snatched his 3-year-old son from his mother’s arms and shot him in the head. The mother was reportedly shot in the hand during the June 15 incident.
Before police responded to the scene, the boys’ mother apparently told a 911 dispatcher her “babies had been shot.”
The three boys were found dead in a yard, while Doerman was found sitting next to the rifle on the porch. The father allegedly told police that he planned the slayings for months.
Doerman is charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, and assault. He was ordered to remain jailed without bond at least until a July 5 court hearing.
