South Carolina police say an Anderson County woman has been arrested and charged with 21 child sexual exploitation charges.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that the Department of Homeland Security initiated an investigation into a case of child exploitation involving someone using the alias “Grace Little” earlier this year, Fox News Carolina reports.
Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit in Anderson County then launched an investigation in May, which led them to 29-year-old Tessla Brandy Smith.
Arrest warrants revealed that Smith allegedly received explicit materials through social media which portrayed a minor involved in sexual activity or nude that a “reasonable person would infer the purpose of sexual stimulation,” NBC 4 reports.
According to the warrant, Smith confessed to saving the images on her cellphone for personal gratification. She now faces 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, along with 11 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Smith remains in the Anderson County Detention Center without bond. Check back for updates.
