A Florida based-lawyer who was jailed in Cambodia for sexually abusing minors was deported to the United States and put on house arrest on Monday.
The Miami Herald reported that Rugh Cline, 40, was released in Tampa on $100,000 bond. In 2019, Cline allegedly arrived in Cambodia with a sexually-explicit video or photo depicting two children; he also allegedly raped at least two minors each day for five days.
Cline was jailed for two-and-a-half years in Cambodia for child sex crimes. In 2021, Cline was charged in the United States of coercion or enticement of a minor female and activities constituting/containing child pornography. He made his first court appearance on June 7, according to Law&Crime.
According to the Miami Herald, Cline is an attorney but cannot practice at this time because he has not paid his Bar fees.
Reports indicated that Cline was in federal court on Monday. Cline, who is under GPS monitoring while under house arrest, has pleaded not guilty.
